Brexit - an update. Ashley Fox MEP

Ashley Fox, MEP joins us to give an up to date view of how the UK is dealing with Brexit from a mainland European point of view. This is distinct from the usual banner headlines we have become used to. Ashley is one of two SW Conservative MEPs and is leader of the conservative groupings in the European Parliament. As usual we will meet in the bar from 6pm and Ashley will overview with us from 6:30 before joining us for dinner at 8pm. 

 

General Data Protection Regulations - Jason Cromack

We will review the impact of the General Data Protection Regulation due for implementation in May 2018. To guide us we welcome Jason Cromack who has a wide experience in our sector and now as Chief Commercial Officer of Mylife Digital Ltd has a business focus on data management. Jason will outline the impact of the regulation and how although demanding attention as an organisational requirement it can also offer a real business opportunity 

 

Round up of 2017

Rubicon celebrates 2017 at The Manor from 6pm where we meet in the lounge bar before Robert Flather, UK Managing Director of Kolbus and Chairman of Picon as well as  President of Global Print, the international federation of printing equipment manufacturing associations, overviews the Kolbus story from 6:30. We adjourn for dinner to celebrate the year at 8pm.  This well-attended annual event is already shorting on overnight accommodation so please book as soon as possible.

Visit to Xerox's Impika Innovation Centre, Aubagne, France

A number of members visited Aubagne, close to Marseille visiting Impika and having a detailed overview of the Impika operation and its ink jet offering. Now under the wing of Xerox this was a fascinating visit on a number of counts. The technology being made available and the backup of Solimar Systems who offer a complementary service for workflow. Members, BMS-Bascom, TJ International, Crossprint, Denmaur, Friedheim, WLT-TAG were accompanied by Clive Fricker and Bob O'Shea. The Solimar overview is attached below.

The Rubicon Way - Cycling Inaugural Event

Congratulations to all seven Rubicon Riders who successfully completed their challenging Tour de Cotswolds on 15 July. Please find attached some pics of the participants all deserving great respect as they completed their tour including Snowshill a 1.6 mile climb of 12+% peaking at 18%!

 

An Evening with Heidleberg

Heidelberg have kindly invited members to their showroom in Brentford for a late afternoon and early evening visit to explore their latest technology with a programme that explores the further automation of Offset; the Industry 4.0 Push to Stop concept; the application and uptake of Low Energy and LED UV, the folding revolution with Shingling and the P folder and the latest on the Primefire 106 inkjet press. We will conclude by exploring the offerings of a local hostelry.

Exploring the Technology of 3D Printing
